A live event on December 17, 2020, exactly 10 days ago, on the eve of St. Nicholas Day, which is so loved by Ukrainian children, took place, the significance of which was not understood by everyone.
For the first time in the history of Ukraine, famous Ukrainian musicians played with a child with autism (!).
Until now, the attitude of normative people was mostly indifferent, because they did not face the problems faced by families with non-normative children. It is not a way to humanize those who have a disability for political correctness by adding the word “people” for the sake of political correctness, as if politically correct formalism will really change the gap between indifferent people and those who need extra effort and attention. Those who have the status of disabled people are paid attention only in order to regret their difficult fate. It is quite another matter when those who are looked down upon prove their extraordinary abilities to the whole world.
Zhenya Cheslavsky is not just an autistic child, but a savant child who was able to master 14 musical instruments at the age of 13, which is beyond the power of many normative children.
He showed the way to other families not to be afraid and not to hide if someone heard the real diagnosis of the child.
People would not have learned about their son’s success and new opportunities for autistic people if not for journalists, TV presenters and musicians who became goodwill ambassadors to prove the equal rights of people with disabilities and normative people in Ukraine.
Who are these people who performed a miracle and a public feat, and these are:
Evgeny Khmara (https://www.facebook.com/pianokhmara)
the most famous modern domestic composer and pianist-virtuoso
Iryna Savchenko (https://www.facebook.com/isavcenko3) is a Ukrainian cellist.
A graduate of the National Academy of Music and Kirovograd Music School. Artist of the Academic Ensemble of the National Guard of Ukraine. Winner of three all-Ukrainian competitors. Plays in the “Black Tie” Quartet (http://blacktie.com.ua/about/)
Kyiv musician Dmytro Reshetnyk (https://www.facebook.com/Direshofficial) accordionist, dj, sound producer of the group “Luiku”.
Oksana Lyniv (https://www.facebook.com/oksana.lyniv ) world-famous unique Ukrainian female conductor, who leads the orchestra in Graz, which is the second largest city in Austria. She contacted the studio during the live broadcast, wished success and promised to meet when she is in Ukraine.
In order for a child’s dream to come true and an autistic person to be able to show all his talents live for the first time, he had to work and prepare for more than one month. And this is filming, rehearsals, training. Good thing it all worked out and you can enjoy the result.
Orema would like to thank presenters, journalists, directors, cameramen, video editors, screenwriters, lighting engineers, sound engineers, administrators and everyone else involved in this famous fashion in the country’s history, which has proved a high level of humanism, which is an indicator of our true humanity.
