An important event for quarantine life in Kyiv took place at the Zhovten Cinema yesterday. The celebration of the International Day of Peace, which was established by the UN General Assembly in accordance with resolution 55/282 of 7 September 2001, which established that from 2002 the International Day of Peace will be celebrated annually on 21 September, has taken place. It was on this day that Leokadia Gerasimenko, Chairman of the Women’s Union of Ukraine, announced the formation of the International Parliament of Mothers together with the Israeli organization Ales and the Women’s Union of Ukraine, on which a memorandum has already been signed.
The congratulations were joined by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Chairman of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO Emine Japarova and Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine for European Integration Olga Revuk. After the official speeches, the film “Mother of the Apostles” directed by Zaza Buadze, which will be released on December 3, 2020, was premiered. The film left a heavy impression from the viewing, as it concerned the subject of motherhood and the desire to save the life of the pilot’s son, who was shot down over the temporarily uncontrolled territories of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The film is full of tragedy, but, as always, it contains many positive moments when most of the pilots of the Ukrainian Anne shot down by Russian mercenaries return to Great Ukraine alive.
